Tooth care is important for everyone. Most people in the Bwindi area have always waited to feel pain before seeking help, which has usually been the removal of a tooth by a traditional healer. Bwindi Community Hospital opened the dental services with the help of friends from oversees to change this culture and improve dental health through education and early intervention.

Our clinic is managed by a public health dental officer. Most of our work is community based, focusing on oral health education, prevention and screening for signs of early tooth decay, where we get to see over 1400 clients a week.
